Washington, DC – February 15, 2012 – The National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association announced plans today for its Eastern Regional Meeting focused on the continued evolution of reverse mortgages as well as a Reverse Mortgage Securitization Forum examining the emergence of HMBS and the secondary market.  These two-conferences-in-one will take place March 26 and 27, 20012 at the Grand HyattNew York.

The Regional Meeting for NRMLA members and other industry participants will look at the latest trends and results in an ever-changing market, including an update on the CFPB study on reverse mortgages called for in the Dodd-Frank legislation; a review of the state of loan officer compensation throughout the country; reports on successful selling of the HECM Saver and HECM for Purchase; and a perspective on what loan originators should know about the secondary market.

The Securitization Forum, aimed at both NRMLA members and HMBS investors, will include a review of the history and performance of reverse mortgage securities to date including Ginnie Mae’s HMBS program, plus panels featuring the most active issuers, leading broker dealers and investors addressing their preferences and concerns.

“We are eager to bring our membership throughout the country as well as government officials together with the investment banking community in New York to provide them all with the opportunity to learn what they bring to each other,” says NRMLA President and CEO Peter Bell. “One of the most interesting things about reverse mortgages is the interdependence between the lending community and the securitization community and they rarely have the chance to converge.”

The Eastern Regional Meeting will begin at 8:30 on Monday morning, March 26 and run through the afternoon of Tuesday March 27.  The Securitization Forum will run from 1 PM to 5 PM on Tuesday, March 27.
